Oak Brook

Oak Brook is a suburb of Chicago Illinois. This village in Du Page County, Illinois ranks among the wealthiest in Illinois and the United States. There are 7,883 residents. Most of Oak Brook consists of residential subdivisions, with the exception of the Oakbrook Center shopping mall and other retail and office properties along 22nd Street and the Interstate 88 corridor in the northern part of the village.

While many Oak Brook residents commute to jobs scattered throughout the Chicago metropolitan area, Oak Brook is also the home of many corporate offices. The world headquarters of McDonald’s Corporation is in Oak Brook. McDonald’s moved into the Oak Brook facility from an office within the Chicago Loop in 1971. Other large corporations include Ace Hardware, Blistex, Dominick’s, Federal Signal, and Sanford.

Polo has been played for more than 80 years at the historic Oak Brook Polo Grounds, and everyone is invited to come out and watch the exciting “game of kings!” Founded by Paul Butler, patriarch of the village of Oak Brook. The polo grounds are located within the 270-acre International Sports Core, which also houses the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club and the Oak Brook Golf Club.
Oakbrook offers all kinds of shopping experiences—from the large number of luxury and retail stores at Oakbrook Center to boutique shopping at the Oak Brook Promenade. Oak Brook is also home to a broad range of other retailers, including wholesale membership warehouses like Costco, and home furnishings stores like Macy’s Home.

Children in Oak Brook attend 4 different elementary school districts (181, 53, 58, 205) and four different high school districts (205, 86, 99, 88). The majority of the residents attend District 53 and then District 86. Many of these districts above are in the top five districts in the state.
