La Grange

La Grange is a near-western suburb of Chicago, still in Cook County, whose historical significance is unmatched in depth by any nearby communities.  A large number of homes dating from the 1800’s and early 1900’s are interspersed with more modern homes attracting those homeowners looking to immerse themselves in a neighborhood with historic charm.  This seamless mix of old and new provides homebuyers with fantastic diversity in their housing options.

Another feature that separates La Grange from its neighbors along the BNSF line is the breadth and depth of the downtown district.  Well over twenty restaurants call downtown La Grange home and provide an urban experience within the suburbs.  Recently, La Grange constructed new parking structures downtown to accommodate the large number of shoppers and diners who frequent the retail and restaurants.  Downtown La Grange boasts, among many things, a brand new library, a movie theatre, boutique shopping, patio dining, and a very trendy sustainable dining restaurant.

La Grange has two Burlington Metra stations and offers 20 minute express commute to Chicago.  Quickly accessible from I-290, I-55 and I-294, La Grange offers fast and convenient pathways to the Chicago Loop, the better part of suburban Chicago, and both Midway (15 min) and O’Hare (30 min) airports.

Most residents in La Grange send their kids to one of two different elementary school districts: 102 (north of 47th Street) or 105 (south of 47th Street).   Lyons Township high school district 204 serves the entire Village of La Grange as well as several adjacent villages.  The high school campus is divided into a south Western Springs campus for grades 9-10 and a north La Grange campus for grades 11-12.
